How we rate hosting vendors
HorizonHost is a suggestion desk. Every search re-ranks the same 75-vendor catalogue. There is no live availability API. Scores are editorial composites on a 10-point scale, updated 2026-09-19.
What we publish on each vendor
- Support — tickets, docs, phone/chat and local-hours coverage. This is the vendor’s service desk, not HorizonHost analyst help.
- Quality — published stack, network class, storage (NVMe where listed) and product engineering.
- Experience — onboarding, control panel, migrations and day-two operations as buyers typically report them.
- Value — list price versus RAM/CPU class and what you actually get after intro discounts.
- Reliability — uptime reputation, ops maturity, NVMe and managed options as signals — not a measured SLA.
- Overall — the composite used to rank shortlists, also weighing location coverage and product fit.
How overall is weighted in search
- Value (20%) — published entry price versus RAM/CPU class.
- Location fit (15%) — does the host actually list your region?
- India billing (10%) — GST, INR, UPI or an India legal entity, when that search is relevant.
- Quality (15%) — stack and network reputation.
- Support (15%) — service desk quality.
- Experience (10%) — onboarding and day-two ops.
- Reliability (15%) — uptime reputation and ops maturity.
How HorizonHost support differs
Vendor support scores the company you would buy from. HorizonHost support is the suggestion layer: public methodology, compare filters, and location/product guides. We do not take tickets for a downed site.
What we are not
We are not WHTop, VPSBenchmarks or a paid placement chart. Those properties are cited as sources. Intro prices expire. Confirm on the provider.
